Ezekiel Mutua, former CEO of the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), has been ordered by the State Corporations Appeal Tribunal to repay Ksh27 million due to an unlawful salary increment during his tenure.

• The tribunal upheld a previous surcharge, confirming that Mutua's pay raise from Ksh348,840 to Ksh1,115,850 was irregular.
• The ruling states that approvals were not obtained from key regulatory bodies like the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
• Despite allegations of legitimacy, the tribunal found both Mutua and board member Nehemiah Koech liable for enabling the pay hike.
