The Kenyan government has terminated a Ksh337 billion deal for the construction of the High Grand Falls dam, aimed at increasing electricity generation and agricultural irrigation.

• The termination was approved by the National Treasury on July 2, 2025, following a review of the feasibility study.
• President William Ruto announced this decision amid other project cancellations, including the Ksh464 billion Nairobi–Mombasa expressway.
• Despite the termination, the PPP Committee has allowed the UK firm to amend and resubmit the feasibility study for re-evaluation.
