Post-mortems were conducted on two young men, Peter Macharia (21) and Edwin Murimi (25), who were shot dead by police during the recent Saba Saba protests in Kirinyaga County.

• Peter Macharia was shot while picking tea near his family's homestead, while Edwin Murimi was shot in the head in Kutus Town.
• Family lawyer Rose Muthike reported that the cause of death for both was excessive bleeding from gunshot wounds.
• Plans for their burials were initially halted due to the absence of a government pathologist, but they have now proceeded with Murimi buried on July 17, 2025 and Macharia's funeral scheduled for Monday.
