Public Service Vehicle (PSV) operators in Kenya are adopting cheaper alternatives like Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) to cope with the recent fuel price hikes announced by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).

• Fuel prices were increased in July, with Super Petrol rising by Ksh8.99 per litre.
• A taxi driver shared that converting to LPG allows for more distance covered and savings, getting eight litres of LPG for Ksh1,000 compared to five litres of petrol.
• The Motorists Association of Kenya (MAK) criticized the government for the price increases, claiming they are economically destructive.
