• Boni Khalwale, the Kakamega Senator, requested to withdraw the bill due to public outcry, but this was rejected by Speaker Moses Wetang'ula.
• Notable provisions include mandatory training for operators and heavy fines, such as Ksh20,000 for riding on pedestrian walkways and up to Ksh100,000 or a year in prison for harming others.
