Kenya and China have reaffirmed their deepening military cooperation during celebrations in Nairobi marking the 98th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China.

• Since 1990, the PLA has participated in 25 UN peacekeeping missions, deploying over 50,000 personnel to more than 20 countries.
• Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Guo Haiyan highlighted China's commitment to global peace and contributions to UN peacekeeping.
• Kenya Army Commander Lieutenant General David Keter praised the PLA's professionalism and the training opportunities provided to Kenyan troops, citing deepened collaboration in personnel training, counterterrorism, and joint exercises.
