Malkia Strikers, the National Volleyball women’s team, has reduced its squad from 29 to 20 players ahead of the FIVB World Championship. Nine players were dropped from the team currently training in Kenya, with the final 14-player squad to be announced early next month.

• Nine players, including Valerie Chepkoech and Sharon Sandui (injured), were dropped from the provisional squad.
• The team will travel to Vietnam between 15th and 20th August for friendly matches before the World Championship.
• Kenya is placed in Pool G for the FIVB World Championship, alongside Germany, Poland, and Vietnam.
