National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula declared his support for President William Ruto’s re-election bid, citing the administration’s development record in equitable resource distribution and transformative projects. Speaking in Kanduyi Constituency, Bungoma County, Wetang’ula urged residents to back Ruto for a second term.

• Wetang’ula highlighted achievements in Bungoma County, including a passport center and the Masinde Muliro International Stadium, and plans to upgrade Bungoma County Referral Hospital with Ksh 8 billion from the African Development Bank (AfDB).
• He defended leasing the Nzoia Sugar Factory, promising cane farmers payment within seven days, and credited the subsidized fertilizer program for increasing maize harvests from 35 million bags to a projected 185 million bags this year.
• Wetang’ula dismissed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s reported remarks urging Kenyans abroad to stop remitting money, stating remittances, totaling almost Ksh 400 billion, stabilize foreign exchange reserves.
