The suspects are accused of defrauding unsuspecting victims, including two Canadian nationals of $37,500 (Ksh4.8 million), through elaborate schemes.
- A gold smelting machine, rubber stamps of various companies, plastic seals, a weighing machine, and documents with East African Community stamp impressions were recovered during the raid on Monday, July 28.
- The arrests were made by detectives from the Operation Support Unit (OSU) at a residence on Whispers Avenue.
- This incident follows a recent similar arrest on Sunday, July 13, of another suspect involved in a multi-million shilling gold scam, highlighting a rise in such crimes where fake gold is sold as a mix of copper, zinc, and tin.
