Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has strongly denied any interest in a Cabinet Secretary (CS) role within the Kenya Kwanza government, clarifying that his recent meeting with Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen was purely for protocol and not a sign of shifting political alliances.

• Natembeya stated, "If you offer me a CS slot, what will that help me with? Nothing. I was employed there before, and the work I am focusing on now is serving the people who elected me."
• The meeting occurred on Monday, July 28, when Interior CS Murkomen visited Trans Nzoia for the 22nd Jukwaa La Usalama grassroots engagements.
• Speculation arose due to the reception of CS Murkomen by Natembeya, despite their differing ideologies, but the governor asserted he remains committed to his opposition role.
