The National Assembly’s Departmental Committee on Communication, Information and Innovation (CII) has directed the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Judiciary to investigate alleged mismanagement within the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) Staff Retirement Benefits Scheme.

• Pensioners raised concerns over Ksh3.27 billion in unremitted staff deductions and a contentious legal fee demand of Ksh1.4 billion.
• The chairperson of the scheme, Martin Nyongesa, stated that KBC had defaulted on Ksh750 million by early 2018.
• The legal claim for Ksh1.4 billion by advocate Morara Omoke for allegedly recovering Ksh18 billion was disputed as having no board resolution.
• The Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) initiated a court-led liquidation process, with a mention scheduled for September 25, 2025.
