Agribusiness firm Sasini Plc aims to comply with the new FLAG (forest, land, and agriculture) emissions reporting guidelines by 2026, as detailed in its recently released 2024 sustainability report. This move positions the company among those adopting stricter environmental reporting standards in the land sector.

• Sasini is tracking emissions from land use change, fertilizer application, livestock, and land management practices in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol’s Land Sector and Removals Guidance.
• The FLAG guidelines, updated in December 2023, were prepared by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), a global collaborative effort that includes the United Nations to implement parts of the Paris Agreement.
• Agriculture is the third-highest emitting sector globally, and the land sector can deliver over 37 per cent of the global mitigation required by 2030.
