Clearing and forwarding agents, represented by the Kenya International Freight and Warehousing Association (KIFWA), are seeking greater government support and regulatory reform to boost the sector's significant contribution to Kenya's GDP.

• The sector processed Sh7.6 trillion in imports and exports, contributing a substantial 9% to Kenya's GDP in the financial year ending June 2025.
• Fredrick Aloo, KIFWA Chairman, highlighted the launch of the KIFWA 2025–2030 Strategic Plan, emphasizing digital innovation and addressing challenges like high transport costs and regulatory inefficiencies.
• ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo lauded KIFWA's plan, stressing the importance of harmonized customs procedures and the removal of non-tariff barriers to position Kenya as a regional trade hub.
