The Kenyan government has announced comprehensive security measures ahead of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), which begins on Saturday in Tanzania, with Kenya's first game on Sunday, August 3, against the DR Congo.
Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo outlined protocols including strict sectional seating, well-trained stewards, and layered perimeter controls to manage crowd flow.
Omollo stated that ticket verification will occur one kilometre from the stadium to prevent fraudulent entries and ensure efficient crowd control.
Security will be heightened with the deployment of counter-terror units, intelligence services, and anti-riot forces, alongside emergency tents, trained responders, and ambulances for fan safety.
