Police Constable Hiram Kimathi was arrested at his home in Kambakia, Meru County, following an intelligence-led operation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). His arrest is believed to be linked to his alleged mastermind role in the controversial group Fighting Brutality and Impunity (FBI) and his widely publicized refusal to transfer to Todonyang, Turkana County.

• Kimathi went viral earlier in July for publicly declining an official transfer via social media.
• The DCI states Kimathi, along with Jackson Kuria Kimani (alias Cop Shakur) and former KDF officer Patrick Osoi, are the masterminds behind the FBI group.
• Kimathi claimed he was being used by the government to send a message to officers dissenting the regime.
