Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has stated that the Nyanza region will fully support President William Ruto's re-election in 2027, with one crucial condition. This statement was made at a public rally in Homa Bay County on Friday, August 1.

• Mbadi revealed that the only scenario in which Nyanza would withhold support for Ruto is if he chooses to back ODM party leader Raila Odinga’s presidential ambitions.
• He emphasized the strong working relationship between ODM and UDA, predicting their collaboration could extend beyond 2027, even to 2032.
• Mbadi also criticized former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, calling him hypocritical for seeking Nyanza's support while previously dismissing their political influence.
• In contrast, Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo recently cautioned that support for Ruto in 2027 is not guaranteed, suggesting Ruto could instead rally support for Raila.
