The National Police Service (NPS) has publicly disowned recent remarks by a junior officer, Isaac Kimutus, who advocated for reducing female police recruitment to 20 percent, stating his comments do not reflect the official position of the Service or the government.

• NPS Spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga clarified the remarks were personal views shared during the 23rd Jukwaa la Usalama Forum in Laikipia County on July 31.
• Kimutus controversially suggested female officers “vomit while on duty” and that male officers would better manage protests, citing recent Gen Z demonstrations.
• The NPS reaffirmed its commitment to gender inclusion and upholding the constitutional one-third gender rule in employment, emphasizing the critical role women play in law enforcement nationally and internationally.
