Hundreds of football fans breached barricades and stormed Kasarani Stadium on Sunday afternoon to gain entry for the much-anticipated African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024) match between Kenya and DR Congo.

• Security officers were overwhelmed as fans bypassed checkpoints and jogged into the packed 48,000-seater arena.
• Head of the local organising committee Nicholas Musonye stated that tickets for the match had been sold out since Monday evening.
• Kenya plans to co-host the CHAN 2024 competitions with Tanzania and Uganda this month.
