Nairobi police have successfully dismantled a notorious phone theft syndicate operating in the Central Business District (CBD) after weeks of surveillance and public tip-offs. The operation led to the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of dozens of stolen electronics from a disguised electronics repair shop.

• 36 Samsung phones, 23 Vivo phones, and other brands totaling dozens of mobile phones were recovered, many stripped of their back covers for rebranding or resale.
• The arrest of a prime suspect caught tampering with IMEI numbers provided crucial leads, directing officers to the syndicate's main base of operations within the CBD.
• In addition to phones, officers seized computer equipment, including 2 Dell CPUs, 2 HP Elite CPUs, and a desktop, suspected of being used for data wiping and resale.
