Kenya is reaffirming its unwavering commitment to the South Sudan peace process, with Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF) General Charles Kahariri designating it a "moral responsibility" crucial for regional security.

• General Kahariri met with Chairperson of the Ceasefire & Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring and Verification Mechanism (CTSAMVM) Major General Teshome Anagaw on Tuesday, August 5, at Defence Headquarters in Nairobi.
• The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) is prepared to provide comprehensive support, including additional personnel, specialized military expertise, and logistical assistance to the peacekeeping mission.
• Kenya acts as a key guarantor of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS), with President William Ruto recently engaging South Sudan's President Salva Kiir Mayardit and First Vice-President Riek Machar to address the country's political deadlock.
