Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has urged the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to arrest public officials involved in corruption, responding to a recent EACC report highlighting widespread bribery in Kenya. The report detailed that Kenyans often pay bribes for public services, including up to Sh243,651 to secure employment.

• The EACC report revealed that 83 percent of Kenyans believe the country is losing the war on corruption, despite the average bribe decreasing from Sh11,625 in 2023 to Sh4,878 in 2024.
• Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku called on citizens to report corrupt officers, stating, "Do not fear reporting corrupt officers. Even if it means calling me directly or forwarding the information to the relevant authorities, speak up."
• The Interior, Health, and Treasury ministries were flagged as most notorious for unethical conduct, including favoritism and theft of public funds.
