Kenyan agricultural exporters will gain duty-free access to the Chinese market following bilateral trade talks concluded during President William Ruto’s State visit to Beijing. This agreement aims to balance trade relations between the two nations and counter recent US tariffs on Kenyan exports.

• Kenya currently imports Sh600 billion in products from China, exporting only five percent in return.
• The deal will remove tariffs on Kenyan tea, coffee, avocado, and other agricultural exports, with final instruments expected in "a few months." The Investments, Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyajui highlighted the opportunity in China's 1.4 billion market.
• President Ruto stated Kenya is also negotiating similar deals with India, Turkey, and Canada, emphasizing Kenya’s pursuit of its best interests in the new global trade order.
