The Social Health Authority (SHA) has disbursed over Ksh.56 billion in the past ten months to advance Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Kenya, a figure President William Ruto stated will soon triple the highest annual payout of the defunct National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).

• SHA disbursed Ksh.56.4 billion (Ksh.49.7 billion from the Social Health Insurance Fund and Ksh.6.7 billion from the Primary Healthcare Fund) since its inception in October 2024.
• President William Ruto praised SHA at the launch of the National Equipment Service Project at State House, Nairobi, highlighting its digital transformation for faster and more transparent healthcare access.
• SHA has registered over 25.2 million Kenyans and contracted over 11,000 healthcare providers, with President Ruto issuing a stern warning against fraud within the new system.
