A light aircraft belonging to AMREF Flying Doctors crashed in Mwihoko, near Githurai 45, Nairobi, on August 7, with all six people on board confirmed dead. The plane lost contact shortly after takeoff from Wilson Airport.

• The crash resulted in 6 fatalities: 2 doctors, 2 nurses, and 2 civilians.
• The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority reported losing both radio and radar contact with the Cessna Citation XLS at 2:17pm, approximately 3 minutes after it departed Wilson en route to Hargeisa, Somalia.
• A multi-agency team, including the Kenya Defence Forces and the National Police Service, was deployed for rescue and recovery operations after the aircraft crashed into a residential building.
