Commuters on Ngong Road in Nairobi are urging the swift completion of ongoing roadworks, particularly the Junction Mall Flyover Viaduct project, to alleviate severe traffic congestion and improve mobility. The project is part of a broader government initiative to complete stalled infrastructure projects across Kenya.

• The Junction Mall Flyover Viaduct, located on Ngong Road's Phase III, is funded by the Government of Kenya and expected to be completed by June 2026, ahead of its original July 2027 schedule.
• Director of Roads Planning and Design at the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), Engineer Wilfred Oginga, stated the flyover will be a 450-metre-long viaduct with a dual carriageway and also include non-motorised transport (NMT) facilities.
• The government's intervention to revive stalled road projects, utilizing a debt-free securitization model, has seen 393 out of 580 previously stalled projects resume by July 2025, with Sh175 billion earmarked for contractors.
