Police in Naivasha have launched investigations after a Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) bus collided with a cargo train, killing 8 people and injuring scores. The tragic incident occurred at Morendat area off the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway on Thursday evening as the bus was ferrying workers home.

• 8 people died instantly, and survivors were taken to Naivasha Sub-County Hospital, some in critical condition.
• Naivasha Sub-County Police Commander, Anthony Keter, stated the bus driver failed to stop at a railway crossing, and the train dragged the bus over 200 metres.
• KPC Managing Director, Joe Sang, confirmed the bus was ferrying workers from the nearby Morendat Training and Conference Centre (MTCC), an institution owned by KPC, and promised aid including airlifts for the critically injured.
