The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced that all pending by-elections across Kenya will be held on November 27, 2025. The commission, led by Chairperson Erastus Ethekon, gazetted the schedule for filling vacant electoral positions, categorizing them into two batches.

• The by-elections will cover vacant Member of County Assembly (MCA) seats in 10 wards and vacant Senatorial and Member of Parliament (MP) seats in 8 constituencies.
• IEBC requires political parties to submit names of authorized persons by Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
• Public officers intending to contest must resign within seven days of the notice, and independent candidates must not have been members of any political party for at least 3 months prior to the by-elections.
