• Tony Omwansa, chief executive of the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA), emphasized innovation as a key driver of progress.
• The Kenyan government recently established a Science, Research and Innovation department within the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary.
• This new department houses KeNIA, Nacosti, and the National Research Fund to accelerate technology adoption and commercialization.
