Kenya's Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has challenged former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to record a formal statement with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) regarding his allegations linking President William Ruto’s administration to terror groups.

• Murkomen stated that Gachagua’s claims, made during a visit to the United States, are too grave to be treated casually and warrant formal investigation.
• Murkomen accused Gachagua of attention-seeking antics and questioned his mental fitness, suggesting his statements showed “a level of contradictions.”
• Gachagua, now leader of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), has alleged President Ruto met Al-Shabaab members and facilitated the release of abducted chiefs, also linking him to financing Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
