African fertilizer industry players have formed the Pan-African Fertiliser Association in Nairobi, aiming to unify advocacy for sustainable soil health and food security across the continent. The initiative seeks to address Africa's reliance on food imports, currently valued at over $30 billion annually.

• The association will promote a balanced approach to fertilization, integrating both organic and inorganic inputs, as advocated by expert Dr. Innocent Okuku.
• Key organizations involved include the Fertiliser Association of Kenya (FA-K) and the International Fertiliser Development Center (IFDC).
• The Pan-African Fertiliser Association is scheduled for official launch on September 1, 2025, at the Africa Food Summit in Dakar.
