After an 11-year inquest, a Mombasa Court has formally closed the case into the death of British tycoon Harry Roy Veevers, ruling that the cause of his death remains undetermined due to severe decomposition and conflicting forensic reports. This decision ends a prolonged legal battle initiated by his sons, who suspected foul play.

• The court, led by Senior Resident Magistrate David Odhiambo, could not establish how Veevers died, citing the body's decomposed state and contradictory expert findings.
• Veevers' sons, from the UK, petitioned for his exhumation in 2013 after he was buried swiftly without a post-mortem, alleging his long-time partner and her daughters might have poisoned him for financial gain.
• Over the decade-long inquest, 16 witnesses testified, and his remains, stored at Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary for over 11 years, are now to be released for reburial.
