The Pumwani Maternity Hospital has been ordered by the High Court to pay Ksh7.5 million in compensation to a woman for negligence leading to the stillbirth of her child and the non-consensual removal of her uterus in 2019. Justice Lawrence Mugambi found the hospital's staff acted with gross negligence.
