Kenya will seek a new funded loan program from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), despite earlier commitments to reduce external borrowing. This decision comes after the country failed to meet conditions for the final tranche of its previous $3.6 billion facility.

• Kenya’s current public debt stands at Ksh11 trillion, with Ksh5.09 trillion attributed to external debt, highlighting the ongoing financial pressures.
