President William Ruto announced the government's plan to construct eight new roads and establish a rice milling company in Migori County to boost development. This initiative follows a request from Migori residents through Governor Ochilo Ayacko.
- The government has allocated Kshs. 1.5 billion, with an additional Kshs. 2 billion to be disbursed, for road construction, including a 50-kilometre road in Awendo and others in Sibuoche, Posta, Piny Oyie, Oruba, and Kehancha.
- A rice milling company will be established in Nyatike, with a private investor set to invest Kshs. 200 million jointly with the county government to support local farmers.
- Other pledges include a pier in Muhuru Bay by the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) and new hostels in 15 tertiary institutions in Migori, allocated Kshs. 4 billion.
