The High Court in Kibera has denied bond to three suspects—William Imoli, Edwin Odour Odhiambo, and Ebel Ochieng—accused of murdering Kasipul Member of Parliament Charles Ong’ondo Were, citing witness interference and public safety concerns.

• Were was killed on April 30, 2025, along Ngong Road in Kilimani, Nairobi County.
• The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) opposed bond due to alleged threats made by the accused and fears from witnesses, some of whom are under protection.
• Isaac Kuria Chege and Allan Omondi Ogola, two other suspects, have a bond hearing scheduled for September 22, 2025.
