Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua is set to return to Kenya on Thursday, August 21, following a United States tour. The party claims there is a plot to divert his plane, poison him, and place him under house arrest upon his arrival.

• Plot alleges plans for a "slow and silent killing through poisoning," akin to the method used on the late Kenneth Matiba.
• The DCP accuses Nelson Koech, Chair of the National Assembly's Defence, Intelligence, and Foreign Relations Committee, of plotting to divert Gachagua's flight to Mombasa or Kisumu International Airport.
• DCP has urged supporters in Nairobi, Kisumu, and Mombasa to turn out in "unprecedented numbers" to welcome Gachagua.
