Airtel Africa and Vodacom Group have announced a strategic network infrastructure sharing agreement in key markets, including Mozambique, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), subject to regulatory approvals. This collaboration aims to promote digital inclusion and expand reliable connectivity across Africa by sharing fibre networks and tower infrastructure.

• The partnership will accelerate the roll-out of digital services, increase connectivity, reduce operators’ infrastructure costs, and improve speed to market.
• Vodacom Group CEO Shameel Joosub stated the agreement is a proactive step towards creating a sustainable and connected digital future, aligning with their goal to connect 260 million customers by 2030.
• Airtel Africa CEO Sunil Taldar emphasized the partnership will enhance customer experience, bridge the digital divide, and support the growing need for data-enabled products and services.
