A faction of Mt Kenya leaders allied with President William Ruto have affirmed that former President Uhuru Kenyatta remains the region's kingpin, rejecting attempts by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to create divisions. The MPs emphasized a need for political tolerance and unity within the region.

• Laikipia Women’s Representative Jane Kagiri criticized Gachagua's efforts to polarize residents and stressed moving away from tribal politics.
