Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano has appointed Mary-Ann Musangi, daughter of the late billionaire industrialist Chris Kirubi, to chair a 22-member taskforce responsible for rebranding Kenya's tourism image. This initiative aims to reposition the country as a world-class, youth-driven destination through innovation, sustainability, and tech-savvy marketing, moving beyond the current Magical Kenya brand.
- Mary-Ann Musangi, also the HACO Industries Managing Director, will lead the taskforce for twelve months, reporting directly to the Tourism and Wildlife CS.
- The taskforce includes prominent figures such as June Chepkemei (KTB boss), Mohammed Hersi (hotelier), Simaloi Dajom (Nation Media Group Head of Broadcasting), and Serah Katusya (Belva Digital CEO).
- In the same gazette notice, President William Ruto announced other new appointments, including Prof. John Onyango Owino as the new Non-Executive Chairperson of the Commission for University Education for three years.
