The Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company has announced that several areas in Nairobi will experience water disruption due to a technical glitch. The shortage is attributed to challenges along the Kabete-Kibera-Lang'ata water supply pipeline.

• Affected areas include the University of Nairobi, Kenyatta National Hospital, Westlands, Lang'ata, Kibera, Kilimani, Lavington, Parklands, Riverside, Kileleshwa, estates along Ngong and Lang'ata roads, and those along Raila Odinga Road including Mandaraka, Nyayo Highrise estates, and Nairobi West.
• Managing Director Nahashon Muguna confirmed the issue on Saturday, August 17, advising customers to use stored water sparingly.
• The company will deploy water tankers to affected estates, where residents can draw water free of charge.
• Nairobi requires up to 900 million litres of water daily.
• President William Ruto previously announced plans to increase water supply by 140 billion litres via the Northern Water collection tunnel.
