A Nairobi man, Dennis Musyimi, has confessed to a fraudulent SIM swap scheme that targeted former Central OCS Samson Talaam during the ongoing investigation into the death of blogger Albert Ojwang. Musyimi admitted to illegally obtaining Talaam’s SIM card on June 16, 2025, and using it to solicit money.

• Dennis Musyimi confessed to the crime before Milimani Magistrate Dolphina Alego on August 19.
• Musyimi was charged alongside Amos Kimanzi and James Munyithya; both denied involvement and were released on Sh250,000 cash bail.
• The trio faces charges of conspiracy to commit computer fraud under the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, with Munyithya also accused of unlawfully using another person’s ID.
