The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) has accused major insurance companies of undermining healthcare quality through interference in patient management, threatening to publish a "list of shame" of firms to avoid. Secretary General Dr. Davji Atellah cited a growing "cartel-like culture" prioritizing profits over patient care.

• KMPDU will release a "list of shame" advising Kenyans which insurance firms to avoid due to alleged interference and delayed claim settlements.
• Secretary General Dr. Davji Atellah stated that insurance companies are dictating patient care, including choice of hospital and medication, and are failing to settle claims promptly.
• The KMPDU also highlighted the ongoing Kiambu County doctors’ strike, which has persisted for 85 days, emphasizing their resolve until all issues are resolved.
