Detectives in Kenya have successfully rescued two women who were abducted from Nyeri on August 19, 2025, and held captive in Thika. Two suspects have been arrested.

• The victims were found in a traumatized condition, showing evidence of physical abuse, after being alerted by a public tip-off in the Muguga area of Thika West.
• DCI detectives seized seven cellular phones, five SIM cards, three SIM plates, and a car linked to the kidnapping, which contained four kitchen knives and seven packets of matches.
• One suspect is a wanted person in Nyeri, tied to multiple kidnappings and robberies, suggesting a potential larger criminal syndicate.
