Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua returned to Kenya on Thursday afternoon after a 42-day tour of the United States. His arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) was met with tight security and jubilant supporters.

• Gachagua landed at JKIA shortly after 1 pm.
• The National Police Service deployed water cannons, anti-riot squads, and helicopters for aerial surveillance.
• Gachagua leads the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), whose supporters lined the route from JKIA to Nairobi’s central business district.
