SHA maintains the hospital is operational and the funds represent legitimate, accumulated claims.

• Total claimed payment to Nyandiwa Hospital is Ksh751,504 under Primary Health Care (PHC) and Ksh82,080,706 under the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) since October 2024.
• SHA CEO Mercy Mwangangi stated that Nyandiwa Hospital has been operational since the 1970s, serving thousands of locals.
• The viral photos of a derelict hospital reportedly show an incomplete project by a former County administration, which SHA has never contracted.
