Doris Lemngole secured a significant victory in the women’s 3000m steeplechase at the Lausanne Diamond League, braving rainy conditions to win with a time of 9:16.36. This win confirms her strong qualification for the upcoming World Championships in Tokyo.

• Lemngole, a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) women’s 3000m steeplechase champion from the University of Alabama, beat Ethiopia’s Sembo Almayew and USA’s Olivia Markezich.
• Olympic champion and world 800m silver medallist Emmanuel Wanyonyi finished second in the 800m race, clocking 1:43.29 behind USA’s Josh Hoey.
