The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is actively investigating five sitting governors over a range of corruption allegations, including embezzlement, conflict of interest, and unexplained wealth. Additionally, eleven former governors are also under scrutiny for similar offenses.

• EACC has forwarded eighty-nine high-profile cases to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) in the past eight months, recommending prosecution for eighty-two of them.
• CEO Abdi Mohamud stated that the investigations are in advanced stages, with files for the governors expected to be submitted to the ODPP soon.
• Since the beginning of the year, the EACC has recovered twelve properties valued at approximately Sh600 million and Sh105 million in cash, while preventing a potential loss of Sh7.2 billion.
