Nurses in Machakos County have ended their two-week strike after an agreement was reached with county officials. Services, which had been paralysed, are expected to resume as the industrial action is suspended for 90 days.

• Among the commitments made are clearing outstanding loan deductions and implementing SRC directives on salary increments by September 30.
• Michael Saka, the Machakos branch secretary of the Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN), confirmed the agreement.
• The county also agreed to promote nurses with over seven years of service within two weeks and increase monthly allowances from Ksh.10,000 to Ksh.25,000.
