Slain Meru blogger Daniel Muthiani, also known as Sniper, was finally buried 19 months after his murder. Family and friends at the burial in Kabuitu, Igembe East, urged the government to ensure justice is served, having previously vowed not to bury him until his killers were prosecuted.

• Five accused persons are currently awaiting their fate in the murder case at Kiambu Law Courts.
• Sniper went missing on December 2, 2023, in Meru town, with his body found weeks later by the Mutonga River in Tharaka Nithi County.
• A post-mortem by government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor revealed Sniper was tortured to death and died of strangulation, with marks on his neck, fractured ribs, and other injuries.
