In a pre-dawn operation on August 23, 2025, the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA), in collaboration with NGAO and Nairobi Regional police, raided an illicit alcohol den in Soweto village, Kahawa West, destroying over 10,000 litres of toxic Kangara.
